Two-bedroom villas in Bahía de Banderas for Semana Santa

Start with four homes: Vidanta Grand Luxxe Full Amenities, Oceanfront Grand Luxxe with Resort Amenites, Grand Luxxe Villa with VIP resort amenities and 2BD Vidanta: Sunset Terrace, Luxury. Each is a two-bedroom villa in Bahía de Banderas, in Nayarit, and each sleeps eight. That last number is the one that usually changes the shape of the trip, because a two-bedroom here is not a cramped two-bedroom, and a family of five or a group of six friends will have room they didn't budget for.
What we can't tell you from a page is whether any of them is open March 20 to 27, or what that week costs. Semana Santa is the single heaviest week of the Mexican travel year on this bay, and the villas that go first are precisely the ones people search for in January. Send us the dates and we'll come back with a quote that includes taxes and fees, so your $5,000 to $10,000 is measured against a real total rather than a headline rate.
What eight-person capacity in two bedrooms actually looks like
Think two master suites plus living space, not two bedrooms and a squeeze. The Grand Luxxe Master Villa layout behind several of these listings runs to around 3,100 square feet, with a wrap-around terrace and a den with a sleeper sofa doing the work a third bedroom would do elsewhere. That's the trade worth understanding before you book: you get resort-scale square footage and a private terrace, but the eighth guest is sleeping in the living space, not behind a door.
If that matters, and with two couples and four teenagers it usually does, say so early and we'll point you toward the three-bedroom end of the Bahía de Banderas list instead. Three Bedroom Estates Villa with Platinum Benefits puts two king bedrooms and a twin room behind three separate doors and sleeps ten, with a private plunge pool on the terrace and the Kid's Club pool among the seven pools guests can use. For Semana Santa with children, that last detail does more for the week than another thousand square feet would.
The four two-bedrooms, and how they differ
They share a resort address at Vidanta in Nuevo Vallarta and they share the Master Villa bones. The differences are small and practical:
- Oceanfront Grand Luxxe with Resort Amenites has a BBQ area and a washer and dryer in the villa, which is the difference between doing laundry mid-week and flying home with a suitcase of wet swimwear. It also has a dedicated workspace, if someone on the trip is only half on holiday.
- Vidanta Grand Luxxe Full Amenities is the same villa type at around 3,100 square feet, with a garden, a pool table and free parking. No BBQ listed, so plan on the resort's restaurants or the gourmet kitchen rather than grilling.
- Grand Luxxe Villa with VIP resort amenities and Grand Luxxe five diamond beach resort are the same Master Villa configuration again, both sleeping eight, both with a BBQ area and cooking basics. These are the ones to ask about when the first two come back unavailable, which during Semana Santa is a live possibility.
- 2BD Vidanta: Sunset Terrace, Luxury sleeps eight and comes with a community pool and cooking basics. Worth a look if the terrace orientation matters to you; the sunset here lands over the water, not behind a hill.
A group of six has a second, quite different option
Villa del Palmar Oceanview Resort Amenities sleeps six rather than eight, and that's the point of it. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a king in the master and two queens in the second room, plus a sofa bed. It sits at the northern tip of Nuevo Vallarta at Villa del Palmar Flamingos, where the resort runs an optional all-inclusive, which is a genuinely different model of week: nobody is arguing about dinner reservations on a holiday week when every table on the bay is booked.
It has a BBQ area, a pool table and toys in the unit, and it's the one I'd push a family with young children toward before the eight-sleeper villas, simply because six people in a three-bathroom two-bedroom is the most comfortable ratio on this list. If your group is five or six, book the right size rather than the bigger number.
Where in the bay you'll actually be, and what that costs you in driving
All of these sit in Nuevo Vallarta, which is the middle of the bay: an easy run south to Puerto Vallarta's airport, and north up the coast road to the rest of it. Punta de Mita is about half an hour out, Sayulita another twenty minutes or so beyond that on the same highway. La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is closer in, with the marina, and La Peska inside the yacht club there is the kind of place you book for one night of the week and talk about afterward. Out at El Anclote in Punta de Mita, Lobster Paradise does what the name promises. Nahui, down at Destiladeras beach, has been cooking Nayarit-style seafood since long before any of this was called Riviera Nayarit.
Nuevo Vallarta also puts Aquaventuras Park within reach, which is worth knowing if you're travelling with children who will, at some point in a seven-night stay, want a day that isn't a pool day. And the whale season runs through March on this bay, so the Marietas Islands boat trips out of Punta de Mita are at their best during exactly the week you're asking about. Book those before you arrive. Semana Santa fills the boats as thoroughly as it fills the villas.
If your group is bigger than you think it is
Two bedrooms is often a budget decision rather than a headcount decision, and over a seven-night Semana Santa week the arithmetic can go the other way. 4BD El Tigre: Patio, Pools & Golf Access is a four-bedroom townhome inside the El Tigre Golf Club in Nuevo Vallarta, sleeps twelve, and splits across more people than a Master Villa can. At the far end, 7BD Exclusive Property On Beach sits four steps from a private beach in the gated community of Punta del Burro, near Punta Mita, with seven ocean-view suites, an infinity pool and a staff who cook. It's about thirty-five minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport, ten from Punta de Mita. For fourteen people over Semana Santa, that house changes the question entirely.
I mention them because the honest answer to "which two-bedroom should I review" sometimes turns out to be "how many of you are there, really".
How to get an answer on March 20–27
Send us the dates, the headcount and whether the $5,000 to $10,000 is all-in or accommodation only. We'll check live availability across the Bahía de Banderas two-bedrooms, quote the total with taxes and fees shown, and tell you plainly which ones are gone. Booking direct means no third-party fees on top.
Every stay comes with a dedicated concierge, and during a week like this that's not a nicety. Private transportation from the airport on the Saturday of Semana Santa, a chef for the night nobody wants to cook, restaurant tables at La Cruz, a boat out to the Marietas: all of it is easier booked six weeks ahead through someone on the ground than from your phone the day you land.
